The Foundation has inaugurated a Community Humanitarian Award which will recognise and honor Americans in Western Pennsylvania who have made substantial contributions to their community in the context of community work and benevolence, humanitarianism, and community organisation in the realm of benevolence and education.
Our first recipient is Deacon Evripides Christulides who over a period of 30 years has made substantial contributions to assist the ill and those requiring community assistance in the Greek-American community as well as individuals of Greek descent from abroad coming to PIttsburgh for medical treatment. Additionally, his devotion to education and community actiivities highlight his overall contribution to the Greek-American community of Western PA.

As part of Pittsburgh's 250th anniversary, we will hold a temporary exhibit of the history and contribution of Greek immigrants to Western Pennsylvania in the Atrium of Carnegie Mellon University. It will be an event open to the public.
The exhibit will consist of memorabilia in the form of photos from old albums, mementos, utensils, clothing, basically any item that tells the story of Greeks in Western PA. Multiple video presentations will highlight the celebration.

THE BACCHAE:
Adapted for an all-female cast in Greek with simultaneous English translation on large screen.
The play weaves the themes of globalization, interculturization and tolerance, in a society
maturing from conflict and exclusion towards a collaborative world of optimism and vision.
A world that also accomodates and accepts the role and the power of women
in shaping this new vision.
